For our firm to function properly, we need an excellent and dedicated team of support staff. Whether or not any specific job is currently being advertised, we are always looking for talented support staff who can bring their own skills and dynamism to the professional teams within the firm. Many of our staff have been with us for a long time and many have returned after maternity leave to continue their careers. WORK EXPERIENCE
As you will see from our trainee profiles, most of our current trainees have completed work experience with us before commencing their training contracts. When recruiting trainees, one of the many things that we look for is relevant work experience as it demonstrates a keen interest in the law as well as providing evidence of practical office experience. If you are thinking of applying to Field Seymour Parkes for a training contract, we would strongly encourage you to apply for work experience here. Not only does it allow us to get to know you better but it provides you with an invaluable insight into how the firm operates.
THE WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAMME
Work experience students are placed in departments throughout the firm and work closely with an existing trainee. Ideally, work experience placements are one week long and the programme runs from mid-June to late September. During the placement, you will shadow the work of the trainee, who will be ultimately responsible for delegating work to you. Other departments within the firm are also encouraged to provide you with work so that you can experience as broad a placement as possible. The placement is an ideal opportunity to get to know our current trainees and to find out as much as possible about what the training contract is really like and Field Seymour Parkes generally. We accept applications for work experience placements from students in their second year onwards in any discipline. Applications must be made by way of CV and covering letter and are accepted from 1 January until 31 March.
