Field Seymour Parkes has been advising clients on contested probate and other will-related issues for many years. The firm has one of the largest private client practices in the Thames Valley and as such has a wide experience of all aspects of wills, trusts and probate. Unfortunately it is a fact of life that a percentage of wills are going to be challenged whether on the grounds that the testator did not have the necessary mental capacity when signing the will or that the testator has deliberately or mistakenly omitted a beneficiary who should have been included. We represent executors who are faced with challenges to wills and we also represent those who wish to make challenges or defend them.

We also have considerable experience of private trust litigation, including claims involving parallel proceedings and overseas jurisdictions.

This is an area where an expertise in family law and civil disputes is as important as an expertise in wills and probate and our Contested Probate Group comprises solicitors from all three of those areas of expertise.
