FIXED-FEE REGULATORY LAW AND LICENSING SERVICES

Our fixed fee regulatory law and licensing services provides for premises or individuals under the Licensing Act 2003.

We live in an era in which new laws and regulations are being implemented, seemingly, on a weekly basis.  Businesses constantly have to adjust to implement new directives on issues such as Trading Standards, Health & Safety, Environmental Protection, Fire Safety, Road Traffic and Child Protection.  In recent years, liquor, entertainment and gaming licensing have undergone particularly radical changes.

Our dedicated specialist team of lawyers has developed a leading reputation and a niche position within the Reading and Thames Valley area and beyond, advising a wide variety of businesses, both large and small.  Our clients range from national retail chains and major sports and entertainment venues, via caterers, schools, taxi companies, hotels and restaurants to individual pubs, clubs and corner stores.  We are used to advising either pro-actively in order to avoid future breaches, or to trouble-shoot when problems have been identified.

We have long-standing and established contacts with local authorities, the police and local Magistrates’ Courts.  Our approach in relation to investigations and new licensing work is to seek to establish early communications with the relevant authorities with a view to seeking to achieve the smoothest possible resolution to the matter.

Where clients have to attend hearings, whether before local Licensing Committees or the Court, we conduct the advocacy ourselves wherever possible, ensuring that our clients receive personal service throughout the process.
