Recent work carried out by the group includes:

  • Regularly advising a company in the data licence and marketing sector on its contracts, many of which involve consideration of IP and data protection issues. We have also drafted terms and conditions for a range of advertising activities including web advertising and email broadcasting, in addition to advising on the company’s website terms and the effects of the e-privacy directive as it relates to website cookies
  • Advising a London-based marketing company on its appointment as advertising agent for the UK subsidiary of a US multinational, as well as dealing with a subcontractor agreement, reviewing standard terms and conditions and handling several contracts for the promotion of events by artists
  • Ongoing advice to a full-service marketing agency based in the Thames Valley which has been a longstanding client with an impressive portfolio of “big name” clients. Our involvement has included supporting the client through tender processes, negotiating a variety of client contracts, advice on software enforcement issues and reviewing competition terms and conditions
  • Advising a toy manufacturer on a spot the difference competition for children and drafting the competition terms and conditions
  • Drafting and negotiating sports sponsorship agreements, and advising a sports club in relation to complaints received about a promotional offer for its kit
  • Advising on comparative advertising campaigns, and on an online viral marketing campaign which included reviewing all associated marketing material
  • Dealing with ASA complaints and advising on radio advertisements and broadcasting complaints
  • Advising on a TV programme production and broadcasting agreement
  • Advising clients on specific areas such as Google AdWords, how it can be used to promote business and the best way to protect their business in light of other companies’ use of the tool
