FSP advises on the setting up of international charity Sustainable Fisheries and Communities Trust
Field Seymour Parkes LLP (“FSP”) successfully assisted John Burton, founder of World Wise Foods Limited and International Pole and Line Foundation charity, on setting up the international charity, Sustainable Fisheries and Communities Trust (registered charity number 1189504) at the UK Charity Commission (the “Charity”).
The Charity aims to benefit the world by promoting and adopting strategies for sustainable development, by protecting the marine environment in the coastal states around the Indian Ocean, by educating the public on these issues, and by relieving poverty of disadvantaged communities.
Ruo Wu, a specialist charity and not for profit lawyer at FSP led this work, and will continue to assist the trustees of the Charity in achieving its charitable objectives.
John Burton commented: “Ruo has an excellent understanding of the requirements of the UK Charity Commission and has quite rightly pointed out and advised the Trustees on these matters along with the need to have policies and processes in place for compliance. Ruo has communicated with both Trustees and the UK Charity Commission in a very efficient and timely manner.”
