FSP property team sell the ICI Dulux factory site in Slough
FSP Real Estate partners Michael Higgin and Richard Higgs have acted for Imperial Chemical Industries, part of the Akzo Nobel Group, in the recently successfully completed sale of the 30 acre former ICI paints production plant at Wexham Road in Slough, which had been in the business for over 100 years. ICI make Dulux, Hammerite, Sadolin, Sikkens products, amongst many other well known brands. This is a major legacy land disposal for Akzo Nobel, who had recently relocated their paint production to a state of the art facility in Ashington, Northumbria. It is a substantial land transaction for the Thames Valley, setting a new benchmark for industrial land in the region, and represents an exciting significant employment opportunity for new manufacturing and logistics operations businesses to operate in the region.
The buyer was First Panattoni Group, one of the world’s largest developers of commercial manufacturing and distribution buildings, represented by Ashurst LLP.
Richard and Michael were assisted by Anna Zatouroff (Real Estate, Senior Associate) and Penelope Garden (Corporate, Partner). Akzo Nobel’s property agents on the sale were Deloitte Real Estate, Nigel Durman and Hayley Parkinson-Roberts.
