About Louise Smyth
Louise is an Associate in the Employment team. Louise handles both contentious and non contentious matters, providing clients with practical and commercial advice across a wide range of employment issues. The 2017 edition of the Legal 500 identifies Louise as a “next generation lawyer.”
Alongside providing pragmatic day to day HR support, Louise advises on senior executive exits and all aspects of tribunal and high court litigation, including restraint of trade and injunctive relief issues. With a particular focus on constructive dismissal and discrimination, Louise has successfully defended a wide variety of complex multi-day cases in the employment tribunal. Louise regularly undertakes her own advocacy at all stages of litigation, up to and including the final hearing.
Louise is a regular speaker at specialist employment law training seminars and writes and presents bespoke training courses for clients.
Louise is also a member of the education group and has considerable experience of advising clients in the education sector. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
