Michelle joined Field Seymour Parkes in February 2001 having previously practised as a Partner on the South Coast.
Michelle has considerable experience in advising clients in all areas relating to family disputes - divorce, cohabitation disputes, contested wills, probate and trusts. Michelle is also experienced in advising clients starting new relationships who want to protect pre- acquired assets by way of cohabitation agreements or pre-nuptial agreements. Michelle's expertise includes advice on those with an international element or involving complex commercial issues, and she is able to offer comprehensive advice by drawing on the experience of in-house specialists in other groups such as property, tax, and company matters. This way Michelle can ensure that clients receive a fully joined up service.
Michelle is described in the 2016 edition of Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession as a leader in the field of matrimonial finance and cohabitation disputes, notably including cases containing issues concerning inheritance and wills. One source interviewed by the publication attested "She has a first-rate tactical brain. She can see when it's time to squeeze the other side and she is very able at dealing with a whole range of clients."
In addition to her family law experience, Michelle is a Notary Public. This entitles her to prepare and authenticate documents for use in foreign jurisdictions.
