We have unsurpassed experience in the region in acting for landowners across England and Wales, but particularly in the South-East, helping them to put their land forward for future development, by a number of procurement methods. We also act for a number of “promoters” and developers who enter into these arrangements, so we have experience on both sides of the table, which means that we can help you to complete transactions on the best legal terms. These arrangements deserve close attention because they have a long “shelf life” and a number of potential outcomes which all need to be addressed in detail to protect your best interests. We also work with a number of other excellent property professionals who can help you with these projects, such as land agents, chartered surveyors and planning consultants.

The group frequently gets involved in:

  • Conditional contracts (where a developer obtains planning permission and then buys the land);
  • Promotion agreements (where a promoter obtains planning permission and then directs you to sell to a developer);
  • Hybrid agreements (a combination of the two above disposal routes);
  • Option agreements (used to facilitate site assembly);
  • Landowner co-operation agreements;
  • Tax-driven land-pooling trusts.
