Apprenticeship Levy

Are you ready for the changes this spring?

Are you a business employing apprentices or a training provider supplying apprentices to employers? If so you may already be aware that the new apprenticeship levy comes into force this spring, and will apply to the funding of apprenticeships which start on or after 1 May 2017. If the employer has an annual pay bill of £3 million or more it will be required to invest in its apprenticeships – deductions will be made through the PAYE system and this money, together with a top-up from the government, will then be made available to the employer to fund the apprenticeship training it provides.

These changes will have significant knock-on effects on the contracts between training providers and levy-paying employers so preparations should be made now to make sure you are ready in time for the changes.
