Our Business Services Team comprises specialist lawyers in commercial litigation, commercial contracts, employment and business immigration law. Between them they help a wide range of companies and other organisations navigate many of the day to day legal challenges that doing business often generates.

The team is looking for a paralegal to support the whole team. It’s a hugely varied role. You may be assisting with the checks and procedures involved in taking on new clients, proof reading legal documents, legal research, drafting witness statements, collating and reviewing evidence, preparing court and official documents as well as some inevitable routine administration work (filing, archiving, copying, setting up meetings etc) required to support the team or our clients and much more.

You’ll need to be an LPC graduate, or (an LLB/GDL graduate with at least 12 months experience in a contentious area of law) with a strong intellect, excellent communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.  You’ll also be available to start within 2 weeks of receiving an offer.

While much of this role will be able to be performed remotely as a temporary adjustment during the current pandemic restrictions, some elements of the role will require some office attendance. You should therefore be able to attend our office in Reading as required.

Our two-partner commercial dispute resolution team boasts some enviable blue chip clients and a caseload which includes complex domestic and cross-border disputes.  They are currently looking to recruit a solicitor to support them. As part of the team you’ll build your experience working collaboratively on some challenging disputes while also running your own caseload of more straightforward cases.

The role offers a significant level of variety and interest.  You will work across a range of sectors and work-types, which may include commercial contract disputes, construction, professional indemnity, insolvency disputes, fraud, IP and international arbitration.  Clients will span many sectors, including automotive, financial services, leisure, fisheries, logistics and FMCG.

You’ll need to be resourceful, responsive and resilient, with the ability to grasp new challenges and areas of law quickly and accurately.  You’ll benefit from support and career development from highly regarded and experienced partners and our senior associate and access to cases of a quality hard to find elsewhere in Reading.

We’ll expect you to have gained a good grounding in some types commercial litigation work. If you are an NQ solicitor that means at least 6 months in a litigation role within the past year and evidence of having gained a range of experience. You will have a strong academic record, excellent communication skills and a passion for providing an excellent service to our clients.
