Junior level role for LPC graduate or experienced paralegal
Our Corporate Team assists a wide range of companies, partnerships, entrepreneurs and individuals with the legal work relating to buying, selling, financing and restructuring businesses. Some of the work is for small and start-up enterprises, but it extends to large, complex deals involving multiple legal jurisdictions.
The team is looking for an experienced paralegal to assist its 6 partners and other solicitors. The work will be varied but will include:
The successful candidate will probably be an LPC graduate who has undertaken some corporate/business related electives, although LLB or GDL graduates with at least 6 months’ paralegal experience in a corporate law team will also be considered.
You’ll be able to demonstrate a strong intellect, excellent communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
While much of this role will be able to be performed remotely as a temporary adjustment during the current pandemic restrictions, some elements of the role may require some office attendance. You should therefore be able to attend our office in Reading as required.

Varied caseload with excellent career prospects (full or part time)
Our busy property litigation team is looking to appoint a new associate. The role is a full-time opportunity, but we are also open to considering applications for part-time hours (at least 28 hours per week).
It’s a role that offers a great deal of variety. Beyond the typical landlord and tenant issues, boundary disputes and mortgage repossessions, you could be dealing with claims concerning rights of way, easements, drainage, restrictive covenants, profits a prendre and adverse possession claims affecting rural as well as urban property. You may also handle some contentious construction work from time to time.
At FSP we have the largest commercial property team in Reading and a large high-end residential property team. With a 6 partner corporate team and 4 partner business services team in addition, we have an impressive commercial client base which generates plenty of referral work for the property litigation team. The team also has clients of its own and we would expect and encourage you to get involved in business development activities to grow this further.
Joining us as an associate , you’ll have at least 3 years’ pqe (as a solicitor or legal executive) in property litigation, though you need not have experience in all the types of disputes listed above. You will, however, be keen to take advantage of the learning opportunities this role presents and to build upon the success of the team while developing your own personal reputation as an expert in this field.

NQ+ solicitor role for a broad range of family disputes work
Our highly regarded Divorce, Family and Civil Partnerships team is looking for an additional junior level solicitor for a caseload supporting primarily high net worth clients.
You will be handling a range of divorce and co-habitation disputes including financial remedy applications and the care of children, managing your own cases as well as assisting more experienced lawyers.
You will benefit from supervision and support from some of the area’s best family lawyers and gain experience on complex and challenging claims. You’ll also be supported with plenty of training and good administrative support. Junior level solicitor role undertaking mainstream commercial property work

Our Real Estate Team is the largest in Reading and prides itself on providing City quality work outside London. Varied role in our dedicated property litigation team with high quality case load
Our dedicated property litigation team sits within our wider commercial property practice – the largest in Reading – and also works closely with our high-end residential property team. As such it enjoys a very broad spread of contentious work on behalf of a wide range of commercial and private clients.
As a solicitor in the team you could be advising on:
You may also be involved in advising on property issues to other teams within the firm in relation to corporate deals and insolvency issues, agricultural disputes, construction disputes and more.
You will be able to develop your career with support and supervision from the Team Leader, Legal Director and Associate within the team while enjoying support from a trainee solicitor and a paralegal.
Ideally, you will have gained at least six-months’ post qualification experience in property litigation, but we will consider newly qualified solicitors who have completed a full dedicated property litigation seat during their training contract or gained similar experience as a paralegal. You don’t need to have gained experience in all the areas above, but you will be able to demonstrate a good grounding in landlord and tenant disputes and solid litigation knowledge and the flexibility and motivation to widen your expertise.

NQ+ role to grow our agricultural practice
We are expanding our agricultural and rural land sector focus and as a result want to appoint a new solicitor within our Real Estate Team.
We are looking for someone with a real passion for rural land and those who own and occupy it. Someone who understands the deep personal associations and traditions involved, as well as the legal and commercial aspects of rural property ownership and use.
In this role, you will work closely with two Senior Associates who have been steadily building the practice and establishing strong relationships with a wide variety of landowners and occupiers, from tenant farmers to landed estates. With them, you’ll advise and assist on a wide range of matters connected with rural land including sales and acquisitions of rural property, varying from small plots of land to large farms and estates, drafting overage provisions, dealing with rural related tenancy issues including succession rights and surrenders, granting wayleaves and easements, and advising on potential property development including a variety of renewable energy projects. You may, from time to time, also get involved in wider commercial property work supporting the rest of our highly regarded property team. As with all our lawyers, you’ll be encouraged to get involved in business development and other activities as part of growing the practice and your own skills and reputation and there are excellent prospects for career development / advancement in this role.
Ideally you will have gained a year or more of post qualification experience specifically in agricultural property, but we welcome applications from any solicitor (or equivalent) with a genuine interest in this field who can demonstrate some solid commercial property experience, including those expecting to qualify by September 2021. You will receive good supervision and training, with the opportunity in time to build a name for yourself in a rewarding and specialist discipline.
