We are always looking for talented people to join us. If you are enthusiastic, pragmatic and want to join our friendly team to achieve your full potential, and help others achieve theirs, we would love to hear from you.

Our highly regarded Will Disputes & Contentious Probate team is further expanding and now want to appoint a newly qualified or junior solicitor to the team.

You will be joining a busy team dealing with a wide range of contentious probate matters and will be working in a friendly, professional department that works closely with our Wills, Trusts and Estates team. Our Band One recognised Chambers and Legal 500 team continues to grow and there is now an exciting opportunity for you to develop your career to join an expanding, busy team with high quality work in this specialist area. You will work with colleagues on large cases whilst benefitting from supervision and support from the hugely experienced Head of the Contentious Probate team. You’ll also work together with other colleagues within the contentious and non-contentious teams on contentious probate matters. Your day to day caseload will involve working on the full range of contentious probate matters including Inheritance Act claim cases, testamentary capacity claims, executor/administrator disputes (including removal of executor applications), estate administration disputes, Court of Protection disputes as well as the various types of trust disputes.

We have embraced flexible working and will be able to discuss this with you further at interview. With a hybrid policy in place you will be required to attend our office in Reading as part of this role- to ensure that you receive the best training, supervision and support to further aid the development of your career with the team and FSP generally. You will also be encouraged to get involved in business development opportunities as part of the team and wider firm.

Our Real Estate Team is the largest in Reading and prides itself on providing City quality work outside London. Our exceptional lawyers handle a wide range of property transactions – including the acquisition and disposal of interests in real estate on individual sites and property portfolios, planning, environment and construction work, landlord and tenant matters and taxation and finance issues. We also have a team specialising in property litigation work for commercial and private clients.

The team is looking to recruit a Paralegal to assist its mainstream commercial property practice. As a paralegal in the team you’ll get great experience by assisting qualified lawyers across the transactional (non-contentious) teams. The role is more than simply helping them with administrative tasks, although some occasional admin work will be required. The majority of your time will be spent in client work including: reviewing and reporting on legal documents, undertaking research, preparing reports, drafting correspondence, undertaking company searches, client due diligence, on-line data room management, drafting and filing SDLT returns and assisting with (and, in time, managing) exchanges and completions on property transfers. You could find yourself working on any type of property work happening within the team. As your experience develops, you’ll have direct client contact and increasing responsibility. You will also enjoy working in a very supportive and sociable team.

We think it’s a great starting point to build a quality legal career. Candidates must have a strong academic record including, as a minimum, a 2.1 law degree or GDL commendation and be able to commit to a full-time role. You’ll be able to demonstrate a strong intellect, excellent communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.

We are expanding our agricultural and rural land sector focus and as a result want to appoint a new solicitor within our Real Estate Team.

We are looking for someone with a real passion for rural land and those who own and occupy it. Someone who understands the deep personal associations and traditions involved, as well as the legal and commercial aspects of rural property ownership and use.

In this role, you will work closely with two Senior Associates who have been steadily building the practice and establishing strong relationships with a wide variety of landowners and occupiers, from tenant farmers to landed estates. With them, you’ll advise and assist on a wide range of matters connected with rural land including sales and acquisitions of rural property, varying from small plots of land to large farms and estates, drafting overage provisions, dealing with rural related tenancy issues including succession rights and surrenders, granting wayleaves and easements, and advising on potential property development including a variety of renewable energy projects.  You may, from time to time, also get involved in wider commercial property work supporting the rest of our highly regarded property team. As with all our lawyers, you’ll be encouraged to get involved in business development and other activities as part of growing the practice and your own skills and reputation and there are excellent prospects for career development / advancement in this role.

Ideally you will have gained a year or more of post qualification experience specifically in agricultural property, but we welcome applications from any solicitor (or equivalent)  with a genuine interest in this field who can demonstrate some solid commercial property experience, including those expecting to qualify by September 2021.
