We have a great opportunity for someone likely to be at early stages in their legal career to join the largest Real Estate team in Reading.
Our exceptional lawyers handle a wide range of property transactions – including the acquisition and disposal of interests in real estate on individual sites and property portfolios, planning, environment and construction work, landlord and tenant matters and taxation and finance issues. We also have a team specialising in property litigation work for commercial and private clients. We pride ourselves on providing City quality work outside London.
Supporting these lawyers with administrative tasks you will gain a great insight into different aspects of property work. You’ll assist with more straightforward (but still essential) work such as document reproduction, scanning and archiving to a high standard to ensure our transactions are managed accurately and efficiently. As your knowledge and skills develop you will also undertake company searches, on-line data room management, document drafting, drafting and filing SDLT returns and a variety of other tasks, building your expertise and the complexity of your work according to your ability.
We think it’s a great starting point to build a quality legal career. We are looking for applicants with at least a law degree or GDL, able to demonstrate a strong intellect, excellent communication skills, initiative, drive, perseverance and a ‘can do’ attitude. Those qualities are more important to us than relevant paralegal experience. If these attributes shine out from your CV and covering letter, we would like to hear from you.Apply for this role
Our New Homes team has an opportunity for a plot sales executive.
As part of a wider Residential Conveyancing Department, the team provides a tailored service for a wide range of developer clients from national housebuilders and joint venture partners to local smaller scale developers and first time developers. Joining the team, you’ll assist with sales of new-build and property conversions of houses and flats, sold off plan or already built, freehold and leasehold, under a variety of options for purchasing including out-right sale, part-exchange and government incentive schemes.
The work is varied and stimulating, but it is also busy and challenging. You will need to be extremely organised and comfortable having direct contact with clients and purchasers’ legal representatives. You will be expected to manage your own caseload under the supervision of our Head of New Homes. Not all transactions run entirely smoothly and a good degree of resilience and composure is required to provide a high-quality and professional service at all times. But you won’t be doing this alone: you’ll be part of a small, friendly team and valued for your individual contribution with support to develop your skills and experience.
Ideally you will already have at least 6 months of conveyancing / property experience as a paralegal or trainee legal executive but LPC graduates with other paralegal experience and a genuine interest in conveyancing as a career will also be considered.Apply for this role
