The team has extensive experience through the food chain – from farm or import to the UK through all aspects of production, packaging, distribution and retail. We act for suppliers, manufacturers and retailers of foodstuffs and drinks together with FMCGs, hotels, retauarants and providers of catering and hospitality services.
We have wide and varied experience across all aspects of the sector. This covers all the legal issues which a business trading in this area is likely to need advice on together with some more specialist areas. For example we brought one of the first ever arbitrations before the Groceries Code Adjudicator under the GSCOP rules. We have also acted for a number of international charities challenging the award of an eco- label supposedly signifying sustainable fishing.
