Our Real Estate Team is the one of the largest in the South East outside of London and prides itself on providing City quality work. The team are currently looking to recruit a 0-4+ years PQE solicitor to join their growing team.  We envisage the role suiting someone between 0-4+ years PQE but candidates outside of this are welcome to apply.   Our exceptional lawyers handle a wide range of property transactions – including the acquisition and disposal of interests in real estate on individual sites and property portfolios, planning, environment and construction work, landlord and tenant matters and taxation and finance issues.

The role

You’ll be joining our team which handles a wide range of property transactions and advice – including office, industrial and retail lettings, large residential developments, investment property, secured lending and agricultural / rural estates work, acting for owners and occupiers, sellers and purchasers and financial institutions. You need not have experience of all these areas to apply -we’re interested to hear about your skills and interests.

Our friendly and talented team has a strong training ethos with regular team training events and development opportunities and we are keen to invest in the career development and progression of our lawyers.  Marketing activities are strongly encouraged and there will be plenty of opportunity to get involved in social events for team and business development reasons.

This role offers a great deal of variety. Beyond the typical landlord and tenant issues, boundary disputes and mortgage repossessions, you could be dealing with claims concerning rights of way, easements, drainage, restrictive covenants, profits a prendre and adverse possession claims affecting rural as well as urban property. Our Property Litigation team works closely with the firm’s Property teams, the Real Estate team, one of the largest and established team’s in the Thames Valley and dedicated Residential Property team. The role

Your day-to-day caseload will involve working on the full range of non-contentious matters including the preparation and drafting of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, as well as handling estate administration work (including advice relating to inheritance tax and the preparation of IHT accounts) for a wide range of private clients.

As part of the role, you will receive extensive supervision and training to develop your knowledge and experience in a successful private client department. In addition, you will be responsible for your own clients and caseload as well as being expected to be involved in team, and firmwide, business development activities.

You will be joining a busy team dealing with a wide range of matters and will be working in a friendly, professional department. The Role

Our Residential Conveyancing team is currently a team of 10 and is made up of 1 partner, a senior associate, an associate, two solicitors, a chartered legal executive, a senior conveyancing executive and three paralegals.

We cover all aspects of residential property from higher value sales and purchases with complex title issues, right through to first time purchases. We have members of the team who have a great deal of experience in new build properties which everyone in the team has benefited from, particularly as for some this is an area that can sometimes prove a challenge. We have a specialist team who deals with lease extensions and enfranchisement that you would be welcome to participate in. This means there is rarely a transaction one might come across where someone isn’t able to provide guidance or support. Our work comes from a variety of sources such that the team works on some really interesting transactions and you will be glad to know that we do not pay agents referral fees.

We hope that you will want to get involved in some of the business development activities that the team gets up to, which can range from regular smaller events with our referrers of work or participating in some of the larger events organised by the firm. We regularly have in house training that we do as a team and everyone is encouraged to seek out their own learning via external training as well.

The team

The team are currently looking to recruit a 0-4+ years PQE solicitor to join their growing team.  We envisage the role suiting someone between 0-4+ years PQE but candidates outside of this are welcome to apply.  The team is looking for a solicitor who can build their experience working collaboratively on rural matters, whilst also running your own caseload.  This may include more straightforward commercial property transactions should you so wish.

The role

The role offers a significant level of variety and interest.  You will work across a range of work-types, which will include more traditional agricultural property work along with assisting clients with all manner of diversification projects.  Clients will span many areas to attract your interest and you will advise and assist on a wide range of matters connected with rural land including sales and acquisitions of agricultural land and buildings, drafting overage provisions, farm-related tenancy issues including succession rights and surrenders, wayleaves and easements, property development/investment work, renewable energy projects and more.  You may, from time to time, also get involved in supporting the wider commercial property team.  You will receive good supervision and training, with the opportunity in time to build a name for yourself in a rewarding and specialist discipline. The team will encourage you to get involved in business development opportunities as part of the team and firm generally.

Our Will Disputes & Contentious Probate team deals with a wide range of contentious probate matters and work closely with our Wills, Trusts and Estates team.

Rarely for this area the work will be exclusively contentious probate litigation. The day to day caseload involves the full range of contentious probate matters including Inheritance Act claims for Claimants and Defendants, claims involving challenges to the validity of Wills, executor/administrator disputes (including removal of executor applications), estate administration disputes, Court of Protection disputes as well as the various types of trust disputes. You will be expected to run your own cases, as well as work with colleagues on large cases all whilst benefitting from supervision and support from the Head of our Will Disputes & Contentious Probate team who is rated as one of a small number of Leading Individuals by Legal 500 for contentious probate in the South East. You’ll also work together with other colleagues within the contentious and non-contentious teams.

The candidate for this role will have 2-4 years of civil litigation experience including contentious probate work and ideally have had some experience of contentious probate and non-contentious private client work during their training contract or early career, but we welcome applications from any junior solicitor with litigation and contentious probate experience who is keen to work in a successful growing team in this specialist area.
