It’s not a nice topic to consider, but the death of a company’s sole director who is also the sole shareholder of the company can be problematic if the appropriate legal documents and/or succession planning is not put in place.



By Autumn 2025, Companies House is expected to make identity verification (IDV) a compulsory part of new company incorporations and a requirement both for existing and newly appointed directors as well as persons with significant control (PSCs).
