FSP advises on sale of endurance running events business to Threshold Sports

An FSP team led by corporate partner Philip Stephenson has advised Racesolutions Limited on the sale of its Endure24 running event business to Threshold Sports.

Endure24 – a 24-hour trail running relay race – has developed a cult following since its launch in 2012. Led by founder and experienced race director Chris Sumner, the original event in Wasing Park near Reading was joined by a sister event in Bramham Park near Leeds.

Threshold Sports, one of the UK’s fastest growing sports events agencies, was itself acquired by global sports marketing company Infront in 2019.

Founder of Endure24, Chris Sumner, said “This feels like the perfect next step for Endure24 and I am looking forward enormously to working with the Threshold team over the coming year and move Endure24 into an even brighter future.

I also want to thank Philip and the rest of the FSP team. The sale process coincided with an extremely busy time for the business in the build-up and whilst both the Reading and Leeds Endure24 events were taking place and took a few twists and turns. Throughout FSP provided clear and concise advice and I was impressed with their commerciality and professionalism. I was very glad to have them on my team.”

The team at FSP was led by corporate partner Philip Stephenson with assistance from Cathrine Ripley (partner, commercial & technology/IP), Charlotte Burroughs (solicitor, commercial & technology/IP) and Melissa Mitchell (trainee, corporate).
