Migrants with an approved visa waiting to travel to the UK

Migrants who have a 90 day visa vignette to work, study or join family can apply and pay for a replacement if it’s expired.

Migrants can apply using the online form. The cost of replacing an expired 90 day vignette is £154 and migrants must attend a visa centre to resubmit your biometric information.

Migrants are advised only to apply to replace an expired vignette, when they can travel to the UK. The new vignette will be valid for a period of 90 days. If the vignette expires again, a further replacement must be obtained.

Migrants who have submitted an application for a replacement vignette, and awaiting a decision, but now no longer intend to travel, can submit a withdrawal request at the Visa Application Centre.

For updates to the status of VACs in your country, contact:

  • TLScontact if you’re in Europe, Africa and parts of the Middle East
  • VFSGlobal for all other countries

Migrants will be contacted when the VACs reopen to arrange for a replacement visa to be endorsed in their passports.

Once migrants arrive in the UK, they should normally pick up their Biometric Residence Permits within 10 days of their arrival to the UK.  Migrants will not be penalised for being unable collect their BRP while coronavirus measures are in place.

The guidance is updated regularly, so please check before you make travel plans.

FSP can advise you on all aspects of inbound immigration to the UK and will keep you up to date with the latest developments as they are released from the Home Office.
