David is a solicitor in the firm’s employment group, advising both employers and employees on a range of contentious and non-contentious matters.
David has considerable experience of drafting bespoke employment documents (including director service and consultancy agreements) and routinely advises both businesses and high-net worth individuals on the terms of employee settlement agreements. David also has a particular interest in advising employers on disciplinary, sickness absence and redundancy scenarios.
Recent work highlights include: assisting a long-standing client in responding to allegations of race discrimination made by a former employee dismissed for sending threatening and inappropriate emails; preparing witness statements in a High Court case concerning the alleged misuse of confidential information; and advising a departing employee on the negotiation of a six-figure settlement package from a global pharmaceutical company.
In addition to his client-facing work, David is a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association and writes extensively on the latest developments in employment law. He has primary responsibility for the production of the firm’s popular monthly employment law bulletins and regularly attends training courses to keep up to date with legal changes.
In his free time David enjoys taking part in running and triathlon events, completing Ironman UK in 2015. He is also an RYA qualified sailing instructor and leads courses at his local sailing club on a voluntary basis.
