Imelda Reddington

Imelda is a Partner and Head of Immigration, which is part of our wider Business Services Team. She has worked in immigration since the inception of the Points Based Systems and sponsorship regime in 2007.  She specialises in business immigration for clients with an international presence as well as advising high net worth individuals and business entrepreneurs on the opportunities to reside in the UK.

Imelda’s primary source of instructions has been in obtaining sponsorship licences for international clients and advising on the most appropriate routes to transfer staff from abroad or employ migrant workers from within the UK.  Having a perfect positive decision rate for sponsorship licences, Imelda and her team ensure that applications meet the strict compliance requirements before submission.

She advises organisations in the UK and overseas in relation to international staff mobility, whether it’s a short-term visit or a longer-term solution.  Imelda’s wealth of knowledge means she is able to guide employers through the myriad of UK immigration rules to ensure that employers’ staff enter and reside in the UK within the immigration rules.

Our intention is to get it right first time, therefore we rarely have appeals for the applications we prepare. We do assist applicants and organisation that have received negative decisions. Imelda has successfully conducted appeals through various channels, including the Immigration Tribunal, liaison with UKVI and Members of Parliament and made successful representations to the Home Office.

We have a strong focus in the care sector where additional support is required for the raft of new requirements imposed in the recruitment of overseas workers.

Imelda also advises on sponsorship compliance and right to work compliance, defending action from the Home Office in the issuance of civil penalties, licence revocation, suspension and actions plans.
