Representative experience:
- PJSC Bank “Finance and Credit” & Anor v Zhevago & Ors [2021] EWHC 2522 (Ch) – Played a key front‑line role within the wider legal team on the frontline of a major US$580m international banking fraud claim against the bank’s former UBO, involving asset dissipation in multiple jurisdictions. This included applications for (1) recognition of foreign insolvency proceedings, (2) a worldwide freezing order, and (3) jurisdictional challenges. Xenia also coordinated with US counsel in obtaining recognition of the foreign insolvency in the US and securing disclosure of USD transactions worldwide. The case is widely regarded as a significant legal precedent: among other findings, the Court confirmed that a director who provides a service address within the jurisdiction may be validly served at that address under section 1140 of the Companies Act 2006, even if not physically present in the jurisdiction at the time.
- Representing a foreign deposit guarantee fund in relation to a £65 million fraud claim arising from alleged misconduct against a foreign bank
- Supporting an international commercial dispute involving complex intellectual property issues, including witness evidence and trial preparation
- Acting for trustees in bankruptcy in multi-million-pound frauds and creditor defrauding claims with cross-border elements (India and Malta)
