Government seeks the power to stop builders building

The Government announced last week (on 14th February 2022) a proposed change to its Building Safety Bill, allowing a Government Minister to stop a named developer from doing development. This would be with no recourse for appeal or compensation, even where planning permission has been granted.

The New Homes Quality Board has published a new code for the home buying process.

The Help to Buy: Equity Loan 2021-23 England programme replaces the successful Help to Buy scheme 2013-21. Applications opened from 16th December 2020 for purchase completions after 1st April 2021.
