FSP advises funder lending to Harwell Science and Innovation Campus

Santander Corporate and Commercial Division have provided a new £7.4m facility to fund the complete refurbishment of legacy RAF buildings on their globally-important science park.

Harwell is a leading science, innovation, technology and business campus, located just south of Oxford. It is host to an array of over £1 billion of world leading research infrastructure.

The 710-acre site boasts over 60-years of world-changing innovation, from the foundation of the Atomic Energy Research Establishment in 1946 to the opening of the Diamond Synchrotron in 2007.

Over 5000 people work at Harwell in over 200 organisations. Its five core sectors are space and satellite applications, life sciences and healthcare, energy and environment, big data and super computing and advanced engineering and materials.

An FSP team comprising Marcus Francis (property) and Cathrine Ripley (construction) advised Santander on all legal aspects of their latest funding. Blake Morgan advised Harwell. Savills provided valuation advice.
