FSP advises Macbeth on its second acquisition in eighteen months

The corporate team at FSP led by corporate partner Philip Stephenson has advised Macbeth on its recent acquisition of Buckinghamshire-based Peter Lole Insurance Brokers. This follows the acquisition of Cassey Miller James Insurance Brokers by Macbeth back in October 2019.

This latest acquisition for Macbeth increases their gross written premium income from £17m to £23m and consolidates its position within the region. Peter Lole’s market-leading specialism in logistics and freight will also allow the Macbeth offering to continue to grow their expertise in this space within its market. Tracey Meaney, director of Peter Lole, will continue to work with Macbeth following completion of the acquisition and the Peter Lole team brings the Macbeth family up to 45 team members.

Paul Macbeth, CEO of Macbeth, commented “Following our successful CMJ purchase, we weren’t actually looking to acquire again so quickly. But in Peter Lole, we recognised a business that, like Macbeth, puts its people first and is totally focused on providing their clients with an exceptional service. It was ultimately the culture fit that literally sealed the deal”.

On working with FSP, Paul said “it was a pleasure working with the FSP team again on our second acquisition. They were at all times very supportive in their approach to the transaction and thorough, yet commercial, with their advice. The deal completed within our timeframe, on budget and FSP kept the momentum going throughout – a great team!”

Philip Stephenson (partner, corporate) led the team.
