The Corporate team at Field Seymour Parkes has advised Christopher Norton, James McManus and Neil Kelly, the founders of Mentor Group Limited, on its sale to the management team.
Penelope Garden of FSP said “We were delighted to be able to help out Chris, James and Neil on this transaction having worked with them over many years. We wish the management team every success.”
Chris Norton commented “Having worked with Penelope and the team on a number of transactions we had no hesitation in instructing the team at FSP on our sale of Mentor Group. We were guided and supported expertly throughout the process by Penelope, Jeremy, Alex and the wider FSP team and I’d have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone else undertaking a company sale.”
The management team’s buy out of the business was funded by an investment from Birmingham based Frontier Development Capital, a long-term flexible debt provider. Mentor Group is now led by the existing management team Jane Hall, Mathew Webb, James Barton and Jack Smith whilst Christopher Norton and James McManus remain involved.
The team at Field Seymour Parkes was led by Penelope Garden (Partner, Corporate) and Jeremy Parkes (Partner, Corporate) with assistance from Alex Illingworth (Legal Director, Banking), Callum De Freitas (Solicitor, Employment) and Amelia Calder (Trainee Solicitor, Corporate).
