FSP’s Private Equity & Venture Capital team has advised the South West Investment Fund acting by its fund manager The FSE Group on an investment in Circular 11 as part of a £2.4 million funding round.
Circular11 is a Dorset-based business that has developed proprietary manufacturing technology capable of transforming difficult-to-recycle plastic waste into composite lumber products, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional timber. The company’s technology enables manufacturing systems to adapt to variations in recycled plastic feedstock, helping to address one of the key challenges facing the recycling industry.
The investment will enable Circular11 to bring its manufacturing technology to market and increase production capacity, with the business aiming to recycle an estimated 10,000 tonnes of low-quality plastic over the next two years.
Matt Browning, Investment Manager at The FSE Group added: “Circular 11 is addressing a clear challenge in the construction and materials market. The team has developed a compelling approach to turning difficult-to-recycle plastic into useful, long-life products, and this investment will help the business scale its operations and build on early commercial traction.”
The FSP team was led by Partner and Head of Private Equity & Venture Capital Team, Penelope Garden with assistance from Solicitor Lauren Lashley.
