About Ruo Wu

Ruo is the head of the charity and not-for profit group and a bilingual solicitor who trained in London and qualified at an international magic circle firm where she worked for almost two years before joining the FSP corporate team in 2019. Ruo specialises in supporting both organisations and individuals in the charity and not-for profit (“NFP”) sectors.

Ruo advises domestic and international charities, from charitable trusts, charitable incorporated organisations (CIOs), charitable companies, chartered bodies, unincorporated not-for-profit associations and local authorities and those that run such organisations on a wide range of matters including incorporation, mergers and acquisition, dissolution, investments, disposals and regulation. She also assists both charities and corporate organisations with general day to day governance related matters and company secretarial support.

Ruo also works closely with the trustees of the FSP Foundation and uses the knowledge she has gained in her 10 years of working with and advising various third sector organisations in both the UK and China to help develop FSP’s charities and NFP working group.

Ruo is also a member of the Charity Law Association.

Being passionate about all things charity related you will often see Ruo involved in local charity related projects or raising funds for charity. Ruo also regularly records podcasts for our Charities and not-for-profit channel where she interviews representatives of third sector organisations and shares their invaluable work. "The trustees very much appreciated the advice and professionalism of Ruo Wu and the FSP team. Ruo was a great help in dealing with a reference to the Charity Commission which achieved a very honourable and successful outcome. The trustees were concerned to be fully compliant with the requirements of the Charity Commission, and Ruo & the FSP team competently satisfied this objective. We were very grateful for her availability and help."
D J Simms - Trustee of the Ash Vale Evangelical Church Trust
"Ruo demonstrated extensive charity law knowledge and was very efficient in registering our charity. We were most impressed on how she was genuinely interested in understanding our charity better. She was very proactive in offering solutions. She assisted us on some highly complicated and technical issues and yet throughout the whole process she maintained a positive outlook and was as an absolute pleasure to work with. We could not have done this without her, a definite 10/10."

"We have been extremely pleased with the support received by Ruo. From the start of the process, she provided us with the information that was needed in order for us to make the right decisions about the incorporation of our organisation with Companies House and the Charity Commission. The speed of response has been outstanding as well as the level of detail provided which is important to make decisions. Ruo also pointed out what steps were needed and the information which was likely to be required, and this was important for planning purposes. Overall, we are extremely satisfied and thankful for her support."
Ricardo Sabates, Director, BAICE Ltd

Ruo has communicated with both Trustees and the UK Charity Commission in a very efficient and timely manner."
